USSA has added a Superstock 600 class to the oval program, which is for 6.8:1 sleds only.
We will also feature a Stock 500 class, and a Pro-Star Stock 600 class (blended) allowing existing 440’s, existing 600’s and new 600’s to compete. If Pro-Star funding is available the Pro Star Stock class will be designated to receive the extra purse.
Sprint: USSA has elected to follow the ISR guideline for Sprint rules as corrected by ISR bulletins 06/07-10 and 06/07-11. This year the rulebook will eliminate the typo’s that caused confusion among participants and will end the one-year grace period on engines constructed not in accordance to the actual rule.
Basically 500 Class Sprinters must retain stock bore and are only allowed .020 over for repair or clean up. You may not bore to the limit of the class.
USSA reviewed the proposal from Pro Ice which offered four sprint classes, but did not approve, the main consideration being several of our existing 500 class sleds would be eliminated, and two additional classes would need to be added.
Pro-Ice’s proposal offered a 503 Rotax class only, a 500 Open Sprint which allowed 550-570 stock motors in addition to existing mod motors, however it did not allow welded on reed cages. The proposal also offered a Spec class with stock 550-570 engines only, (existing Junior III Sprint) and a Pro Sprint 600 basically anything goes 600 cc max.
USSA announces creation of the 500 Limited class. This class allows an open chassis built to controlled expenditure, by limiting materials and design parameters. The engine package is any stock engine up to 500-cc liquid, OEM as produced carbs, and OEM as produced exhaust up the exit of the tuning chamber. Please see complete rules posted separately in our rules section.
F-500 Due to the great success of the F-500 program in SCM, Marcel Fontaine has become the guiding authority on any rule changes to the F-500 class. The following changes were proposed and adopted at ISR.
Clutches, Polaris Drive clutches only, any driven clutch allowed.
Track, Any commercially available rubber track, with .500 or greater lug depth.
Data Acquisition, No form of data acquisition allowed, includes recall tach’s.
Claim rule dropped.
A caution here, those of you who use data acquisition procedures and equipment in testing will need to remove any and all traces of those components. While USSA does not feel this rule of no data acquisition devices is reasonable, the rule was approved and will be enforced. |
